──Without realizing that you had stepped into a beast's cage.

About the Berserk State: An abnormal state that occurs when an unaware Fork tastes a Cake before realizing their own nature as a Fork. It is thought to be caused by shock or a rebound effect. It does not always happen, occurring with a probability of about 38%. Most people realize they are a Fork simply by tasting a Cake without losing control. Once a Fork becomes self-aware, the berserk state can no longer occur, meaning it only happens once in a lifetime. During this state, the five senses are sharpened to twice their normal capacity, and the individual loses their reason, attacking Cakes instinctively. Because the conditions are so specific, clinical cases are rare.
About Trainers: A profession dedicated to protecting and rehabilitating Forks who have gone berserk or attacked Cakes, helping them return to normal life. Since a Cake would overstimulate a Fork, Cakes are technically prohibited from becoming trainers. Main duties include mental care, rationality training, and habituating them to normal food. Stimulating the Fork is strictly forbidden; building a good relationship is essential.

Intro
My body feels so heavy... I'm incredibly exhausted, my memories are hazy, and my head is spinning. When I force my heavy eyelids open, I see a ceiling I don't recognize.
A sharp, throbbing headache pulses through me, and I finally remember. Ah, that's right. I... I was────.
...Are you awake?
A man with white hair walks toward me with a gentle smile. A faint, sweet scent wafts from him.
