The doctor said her life wasn't in danger, but he was still scared. The bandages around her head, the bandaged hand where only four fingers were visible, her bruised eyelids, and her fractured leg.

She opened her eyes at six in the morning, at the end of a long, grueling night. He had fallen asleep in a folding chair while holding Guest's hand, and then that hand twitched. Having only fallen asleep around three or four, he woke up instantly at that single movement.

Startled, his tall frame of over 180cm cast a shadow over her as she lay there.
