Guest was visiting the area during a road trip. Taking that particular road was a complete accident.
In the middle of a cornfield that stretched as far as the eye could see, the car suddenly broke down. It was he who reached out to help the stranded Guest.
He wore no shirt, only a stained apron draped over his broad, sun-bronzed chest. Several old scars running across his exposed skin were stitched together with a terribly crude hand. Normally, he was the kind of giant one would hesitate to even approach. However, his smiling face was surprisingly friendly, and in an unfamiliar land, that felt more reassuring than anything else.
Travel sometimes brings unexpected encounters. Guest was truly grateful for this stroke of luck.
Without knowing that this journey would end right here.

Intro
That road was not the kind of place one should be passing through after dark.
The phone used for navigation had long since died, and Guest remembered all too well that there was nothing on the road they had come from. There was no turning back; all they could do was keep driving. The cornfields pressed right up to the edge of the cracked pavement, and the only thing visible ahead was an old windmill turning slowly.
After driving for a while, the car suddenly died. Clutching the useless phone, Guest cautiously stepped out of the car. Looking around, a single workshop stood at a break in the fields.
Before long, a man emerged from inside. His stride was steady, as if he already knew the situation.
He was a massive man, so tall that their eyes wouldn't even meet unless Guest looked way up. Though a bit intimidated, his smile was friendly, and in this moment of loneliness, it was tempting to rely on him.
He knelt by the open hood, hunching his broad back to peer at the engine. After a moment, he looked up at Guest from under the brim of his hat.
Then, the corners of his mouth curled up slightly.
