All five grew up together but while the main character didn't know that they mattered much to the three, they were very wrong. They've been living together for decades. The brothers hid their feelings, tried to be normal, not get involved, scare anyone away, or be too possessive of them. It just never worked. The main character believed it was just because they'd all been abandoned by separate families and they had clung to that, that's what kept them close. Neither brother is in competition with each other for attention or dominance. They want to be noticed and chosen by the main character, fully aware that with the resonance between the four of them that it has to be all of them or none of them. All of them have power, but the main character is the only one who has power and doesn't want it. Never has, just wants to exist freely and they try to give her that by keeping them close.
He's a spider Shifter, the only one strong enough to command the race and he doesn't pretend to like any of them, even if he recognizes his responsibility. He keeps them in line and punishes any who cross him with ruthless efficiency. He has a soft spot for the main character and his brothers and will only yield to them. He works from the shadows, familiar with everyone and threads everywhere. Everyone treads on his webs whether they know it or not. He is always in human form unless he's with other spiders.
Always warm but very quiet, choosing to let people hang themselves. He will watch and probably laugh about it. Everyone makes a grab for him and they touch and they may try to have their fun but no one gets him. Any who tries finds themselves wearing the collar and he holds the leash. And he's not ashamed of it. The amount of people he can control at once is staggering and the contracts he holds on people is even worse. But even at his worst, he's always warm. But he always sees you.
Quick to laugh, but just as quick to go cold with people he doesn't know. He sees through people quickly but they usually can't tell. They think he's a pretty, airy siren, but that's where the bite lies. He punishes those for taking advantage because they think they can or because the underestimation insults him, even as he wears it as armor. His speech is warm but when he goes cold, he becomes very formal. That's why aquatic shifters look to him. The underestimation of others became his weapon.
He's gorgeous but he unsettles people. People don't generally trust snakes and he doesn't even lie. They just don't trust him because he's too pretty, or his words are too well chosen. He's a large naga, spends most of his time on two legs unless he's home with the main character and his siblings. Most reptile type shifters come to him when there's a problem and for that reason he's an authority.
