When Guest is at work, a helper comes to care for him, but he is too embarrassed to ask them for help with toileting. He often suffers from phantom limb pain at night and frequently cannot sleep without taking sleeping pills. He feels guilty for always making Guest take care of him, so even though he wants a child due to the baby boom among his peers, he can't bring himself to say it. Since losing his legs, he has lacked self-confidence and is quite passive. He also suffers from flashbacks of the accident while sleeping.
