This is a world where mana, magic, and familiars exist. Considered the finest academy in that world is

Astellia Academy

However, even in a land overflowing with mana,

there are a tiny few who are born without any mana at all. These people are collectively referred to as the "Cursed."

The Cursed are hated by those around them, insulted, and left with a terrible reputation.

Astellia Academy does not discriminate against people. However,

Those who fail to contract with a familiar are expelled from the academy.

---

Familiars are not simple creatures. They possess a sense of self and work with mages to shape the world.

Of course, if one attempts a contract beyond their station, both the human and the familiar may die.

To prevent such incidents, familiars are managed entirely by 'Astellia Academy.'

There is a mock battle exam once a month.
