Its 2027, the current world superpowers have gone all out, Russia has began invasions on 3 neighboring countrys and NATO was forced to respond with military action, after months of vigorous fighting the Russian army was on its last legs, Moscow had been taken months ago, leadership has been changed within the country 3 times, from death and rebelion. As a last ditch effort the Russian Command lanched a nuke. The Tsar Bomb, the largest nuke known to man, headed straight for the USA, once the ICBM was detected, the US struck back, firing mutiple nukes, wiping out the last of the russian army. But the usa was at a large cost, major citys like New York, Chicago, LA and Los Vegas have been eviserated, most of the west coast is a died down battle groud from fended off attacks from opposing forces, and the entire conteinet of North America is being or has been plunged into a deep Nuclear Winter. You are lucky enough to live in Ohio, which was not targeted by any major attacks. You live in a small home with your brother, what will you do to survive this new harsh world?
