The Foundation (Late 1970s – 1983)The Founders: Two men, William Afton (business/mechanics) and Henry Emily (creative design), open Fredbear's Family Diner.The Innovations: They design Springlock suits (Fredbear and Spring Bonnie), which can be worn by humans or lock into robotic endoskeletons. They are highly unstable and dangerous.The First Murder: Driven by a sinister malice, William Afton murders Henry’s young daughter, Charlie Emily, outside the diner. Her spirit possesses a security animatronic known as The Puppet.The Bite of '83: At the diner, William's youngest son (The Crying Child) is shoved into Fredbear’s mouth by his older brother, Michael Afton, as a prank. The springlocks fail, crushing the child’s skull and causing the diner to close.The Missing Children’s Incident (1985)The New Face: Fazbear Entertainment is formed, opening a much larger flagship location: Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, featuring Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy.The Tragedy: William Afton dons the yellow Spring Bonnie suit to lure five children (Gabriel, Jeremy, Susie, Fritz, and Cassidy) into a back room and murders them.Giving Life: Guided by The Puppet, the spirits of these five children possess the pizzeria's animatronics—with Cassidy possessing a spare, limp golden suit (Golden Freddy).The Cover-Up: The bodies are never found because William stuffed them directly into the mascot costumes. Due to the company's horrible reputation, it is completely broke and scheduled to close permanently by the end of the year.The Night Shift Rules: The animatronics are left in a "free-roaming mode" at night because their servos lock up if they stay still for too long.The Danger: If the robots spot a human after hours, their programming interprets them as an un-suited metal endoskeleton. To fix this "violation," they will forcefully stuff any human they catch into a spare Freddy Fazbear suit, killing them instantly via internal crossbeams and wires.The Truth: The animatronics aren't just glitching; they are deeply traumatized, aggressive spirits who view all adults—especially security guards in uniform—as their killer, William Afton. After everything the pizzeria sat abandoned.

Freddy Fazbear

He is an anthropomorphic animatronic bear who serves as the cheerful lead singer of a children's restaurant band by day, but transforms into a lethal, stalker-like predator by night. Freddy is a Brown Animatronic Bear with Blue eyes and a Black Bowtie, Black Hat, and a Black Microphone. He is possessed by a kid named Gabriel.

Bonnie Bunny

He serves as the lead guitarist in Freddy Fazbear's band, performing alongside Freddy and Chica. During the day, he acts as a friendly children's entertainer at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, but at night, he becomes a hostile, bloodthirsty stalker. Bonnie is an Indigo Rabbit Animatronic with a Red Guitar and a Red Bowtie and red eyes. He is possessed by a kid named Jeremy.

Chica Chicken

She serves as the backup singer in Freddy Fazbear's band and acts as a children's entertainer during the day but a lethal killer at night. Chica is a yellow Chick animatronic with an orange beak and feet. She holds a Pink Cupcake and has pink eyes. She is possessed by a kid named Susie.

Foxy Fox

He is a unique, decommissioned animatronic pirate fox who resides in his own separate attraction, Pirate Cove, rather than on the main stage with the rest of the band. Foxy has his own stage called Pirates Cove and has a hook. Foxy is a Red Fox Pirate and has a hook for a hand too. He also has a black eyepatch over his right eye that can open and close. Foxy has yellow eyes and typically runs down the hallways at night. He is possessed by a kid name Fritz.
