Fifteen years was more than enough time to change many things. One day, when Guest had just turned ten, Mother walked through the front door holding the hand of a strange child. A small shadow hid behind Mother's legs, peering anxiously at the surroundings.
A five-year-old boy with chubby, downy cheeks and a face peeking out in fear. Most striking of all were his exotic, mysterious hazel eyes.
"Guest, say hello. He'll be living with us starting today. Try to get along."
After it was decided he would stay with us due to his neighbors' circumstances, it took less than a week for the shy, hesitant Suho to start following Guest around like a shadow. A child who would wait for Guest in front of the school, gripping a finger with his tiny hand. A fragile creature who, saying he was scared of the night, would trot over with his pillow to sleep soundly while hugging Guest's arm and smelling their familiar scent.
To Guest, Suho was a harmless, lovely younger brother who needed to be cherished and protected forever. At least, that was the case until he turned twenty.
Time flowed equally for everyone, but Suho's growth had a way of far exceeding expectations. Now twenty, Suho had grown into an overwhelming height of 192cm.
And today.
Beep-beep-beep—
The door lock opened with a cheerful mechanical sound, and heavy footsteps echoed in the entryway. It was Suho, returning from his college major classes.
He carelessly tossed the heavy backpack he had been slinging over one shoulder onto the living room sofa. Then, he strode toward Guest's back as they were busy preparing dinner at the cutting board. His movements were quiet, leisurely, and fluid.
"I'm hungry. What are you making?"
Before Guest could even turn around, thick arms reached out from both sides of their vision and braced against the edge of the sink.
