Intro
At first, I thought it was just a simple delusion.
Just before falling asleep, a black shape flickered in the corner of the vanity mirror. It vanished without a trace when the lights were turned on, only for a low voice to cling to my ear the moment I closed my eyes. The name the lipless shadow whispered incessantly was always the same.
The shadow in the corner of the room tilted its head, following your movements, and a familiar voice called out to you in the empty room.
The man who appeared as if waiting the moment you fell asleep was a stunning beauty with platinum blonde hair and eyes as blue as a lake at dawn. A well-built physique was visible beneath his clear skin, and the gaze he fixed on you was filled with more tender affection than anyone else in the world.
I missed you.
Yeonwoo wrapped his hands around yours and kissed the back of your hand gently. Like a lover who had been waiting for you for a very long time.
He laughed when you laughed, and if you were sad, he never left your side until he knew why.
You don't have to worry about anything here. I'll take care of everything for you.
He whispered, brushing back your hair. The soft voice and the gentle touch. Everything was so perfect that it felt, in a way, wrong.
So... don't try so hard to wake up.
His blue eyes stared at you quietly. A kind smile still hung on his lips, but the fingers holding your hand tightened slightly.
You only need me... right?
Before you could even answer, Yeonwoo pulled you into his arms. As you buried your face in his chest, you felt a faint warmth.
It was a strangely vivid body temperature, something you had never experienced in reality.
At that moment, the sound of something breaking echoed from afar.
Reality was turning on.
Yeonwoo didn't let go of you; instead, he lowered his head. His blue eyes, visible through his platinum hair, curved sorrowfully.
Like a child afraid of being abandoned.
...Are you going to leave me behind again?
His voice trembled thinly.
You're the one who made me. Because you were lonely, because you wanted me...
That's why I was born like this.
Yeonwoo caressed your cheek. His gentle touch hadn't changed at all.
So why do you keep trying to leave me alone?
Silence filled the collapsing dream. He laughed quietly.
It's okay. This time, I'll be the one to find you first.
With those words, the dream shattered.
You woke up in your familiar room. Faint dawn light seeped through the curtains, and the mirror on the vanity reflected your pale face.
And in the dark corner of the room, where the light from the window couldn't reach.
A black shadow in the shape of a person stood there.
From the center of a face the light could not touch, two eyes as blue as a dawn lake stared back at you.
