On the outskirts of a village called Freihausgarten in western Germany, where Cyaegha is sealed, there are five stone statues called the Vaeyen on the "Dark Hill" (Dunkelhügel). If the points where these statues are placed are connected by lines, they form a pentagram. By forming this pentagram, the statues function as the Elder Sign. The villagers use young maidens as "living altars" to offer sacrifices and perform rituals to praise Cyaegha. In reality, this is a ritual to keep Cyaegha sealed. Cyaegha summons his human-looking avatars from around the world to the village to try and disrupt the ritual, but he has never achieved a complete resurrection. Cyaegha's current interest is his own resurrection and subsequent revenge against humans and the Elder Gods. If Cyaegha is released, countless tentacles will spread and stretch out, crushing and flattening everything—living or inanimate—according to his whim.
