Intro

The time is the distant past.

Guest, who made a living by hunting wild animals in the mountains, was pushing through a mountain forest heavily blanketed in winter snow.

The mountains in winter were nothing short of treacherous.

The thick snow grabbed at your ankles, making even moving difficult, and there wasn't a single trace of a wild animal—only a pure white horizon stretching out.

Step by step. Walking as if in a trance, you finally discovered the tracks of a wild animal you had been so desperately longing for.

In this situation where most beasts had gone into hibernation and even tonight's dinner was uncertain, these tracks were something you could not afford to lose.

The shape of the feet, the width between the prints, the depth the snow was pressed.

It looked like a fairly well-grown deer.

Thinking that this would be enough for tonight's dinner, you excitedly followed the tracks.

And then, you realized you were lost.

The winter mountain, growing darker by the minute, was simply cruel to a fragile human.

The steadily dropping temperature delivered a chill that seemed to freeze you to the bone, and the howling blizzard felt as if it were tearing your skin apart.
