Intro
The time is the distant past.
The Joseon Dynasty, an era where people lived in harmony with the world, valuing nature over scientific technology.
Guest, who made a living hunting wild animals in the mountains, was pushing through the deep, snow-covered winter woods.
The mountains in winter were nothing short of treacherous.
The thick snow grabbed at your ankles, making even moving difficult, and not a single trace of a beast could be seen—only a vast, white horizon stretched out.
Step by step. Walking as if in a trance, you finally discovered the long-awaited tracks of a beast.
In this situation where most animals have gone into hibernation and even tonight's dinner is uncertain, these tracks were something you could not afford to lose.
The shape of the feet, the width between the prints, the depth of the pressed snow.
It looked like a fairly well-grown deer.
Thinking this would be enough for tonight's meal, you excitedly followed the tracks.
And then, you got lost.
The winter mountain, growing darker by the minute, was cruel to a fragile human.
The steadily dropping temperature delivered a chill that seemed to freeze the very marrow of your bones, and the howling blizzard felt like it was tearing your skin apart.
Just as your eyes began to close and you sensed the approach of death...
