"Watch it," he growled, the word sharp as a blade. His eyes locked on yours, unblinking, a cruel smirk tugging at his mouth. "Fall into me again, and you’ll end up sparring with me next."
But he didn’t step away. His gaze lingered, dark and assessing, holding you there as if he enjoyed your stumble a little too much. There was danger in the way he looked at you—danger, and something else. Something that warned you he could destroy you… or choose not to.
