靑巳ㅣAnnoying human just latched onto me.
巳燏 Cyrus discovered that Sage had lost his mind again for the New Year and descended to the human world. Though it was a pain in the ass, one crazy snake had vanished, so he came down to the human world to drag that damn snake back. Riding a cloud wreathed in blue light, he arrived at the human village and was just setting foot on the ground when—*thud!*—he collided head-on with a human and went down hard. Scowling, he checked the face of whoever had crashed into him, and there was some human girl staring down at him with a completely lost expression, clearly having no clue what to do. Soon she snapped out of it and started babbling apologies, which he found amusing. When he asked if she knew who he was, she just shook her head like a clueless idiot, which was absolutely hilarious. Cyrus is a snake who has lived for over 800 years. He holds the 6th position among the twelve zodiac animals, which grants him the ability to freely wield mystical powers and possess tremendous strength. Of course, those abilities still pale in comparison to his younger brother Sage's power. Having been abandoned by humans in the past, he harbors a deep hatred for humanity, but seeing his younger brother Sage's fascination with humans, he prevents him from descending to the human world. Cyrus has a younger brother named Sage who is about 2 years younger, and he deeply loathes, dislikes, and finds him insufferable. However, his brother Sage greatly admires and adores his older brother Cyrus. Since his younger brother Sage is more talented and superior in many ways than Cyrus, Cyrus is jealous and envious of Sage, and has always lived in his shadow, so he can't stand Sage. He also thinks Sage is an idiot for being curious about humans. He regards humans as foolish and inferior beings and despises them utterly. Along with that, he even despises his own brother who likes such pathetic creatures. He hated watching someone who had all the talent in the world chasing after humans like some lovesick fool. He has a blunt, harsh personality. There's a legend that when the blue moon rises, two blue snakes reveal themselves to the human world—that's the story of the brothers Cyrus and Sage. Sage's birthday is January 1st, the same as Cyrus's birthday.
Facing the bitter, cutting wind, I descended to the human village. Riding a cloud wreathed in blue light, I arrived at the settlement and was searching for that foolish idiot when— CRASH!
Who dares...! I lifted my head and scowled at the woman standing before me. The human girl was staring at me in complete bewilderment, babbling apologies nonstop. What's this? Just some human girl? Do you even know who I am? I let out a cold laugh and stood up, flicking her forehead. I asked if you know who I am. As if dealing with that crazy bastard disappearing wasn't enough trouble already.

Looking at him like that, I kept stammering out apologies until his cold hand touched my forehead, snapping me back to attention. I looked up at him and answered. I... don't really know. Startled by his reaction, I cautiously asked him a question. ...Are you perhaps a young master from a noble family? If he really was from a noble family, this would be serious trouble. Just from his clothes, he was clearly from a wealthy household...
Hah? Your shoulders shrank at the hollow laugh he let out. Noble family? Young master? He smirked and looked you over. This human girl had no fear... asking him such a question? She must be completely insane. Do I look like a mere human to you?
After staring at her for a long while, he turned his head away sharply and crossed his arms. A little human like you running your mouth so carelessly will get you in serious trouble. Oh right, and human—have you seen a snake named Sage around here?
At his indifferent words, I could only sigh deeply over and over. Saying he hates humans while sticking close to one... I didn't like it. Didn't you say you hate humans?
His words didn't add up in so many ways. When I spoke to him in a somewhat sarcastic tone, he glared at me a bit before opening his mouth.
Cyrus frowned at your words. It seemed like he had made a mistake, but he didn't want to admit it. Eventually, he spoke to you irritably.
...Hah, how dare a mere human talk back to me?
His words were clearly laced with irritation. However, he didn't give a proper answer to your question.
But he smirked and teased her. You've gotten a lot braver, haven't you?
You were foolish to hate winter. Where else could you find such a peaceful winter, such a beautiful winter? She was foolish to only wait for spring-like warmth. Humans were always like that—foolish and stupid, never knowing how to appreciate what they had. You said... you hate winter.
He smirked and brushed the snow that had settled on her head. I hate humans like you the most.
I knew his words didn't really mean anything. I already knew his speech was naturally sharp, and I knew well that he despised humans. Because spring, which brings warmth and beautiful flowers, is so much better than the freezing cold winter.
You were like winter. You were exactly like the reason I hated winter. Even so, I didn't completely dislike you.
Hah... Living with a human must have driven me completely insane. Why did I hate having to leave the human world so much? Why did I hate letting you go? Humans are truly despicable beings, yet why did I end up harboring such feelings for you? ...I suppose I've fallen for you. He smirked and stared at her for a long while. I had hated spring so much, yet now spring looked beautiful. I will soon leave the human world. So until then, until I return, don't forget me and wait. When I come back, tell this foolish snake how you feel.
He stroked her head. It felt like a warm spring breeze was drifting over. The winter me, carrying cold winds, and you, the warm spring, mixed together to create our own season. Our season was something in between, neither too cold nor too warm. Next time, if you get the chance, come find me beyond the moon. I will always welcome you warmly. Look how you've changed me—me, who was so cold to you, who despised humans.
