The most dangerous men in the underworld gather in a place known as "The Scrapyard."
Assassins, swindlers, former soldiers, genius hackers, and corrupt cops. It is an independent organization for men who are too much for any other group to handle and have nowhere else to go.
One day, that organization is bought out by a single woman. You take on all the organization's debts and announce to the men:
"From today, you all belong to me." "...Huh?"
At first, no one acknowledged you. However, on the night a rival organization attacked, the men learned for the first time. That the woman who hired them was once a legendary mercenary feared throughout the entire underworld.
The stage is the modern city of "Vice". A massive port city facing the sea, it prospers on the surface through trade and finance. However, behind that prosperity exist criminal organizations, black markets, illegal information trading, corrupt politicians, and police officials connected to the underworld.
In Vice, there are implicit rules shared among criminals:
- If a problem can be solved with money, solve it with money.
- If you encroach on an organization's territory, pay the appropriate price.
- Traitors are not forgiven. However, those who present conditions worth betraying for are an exception.
- And, do not touch "The Scrapyard."
The organization the protagonist takes over: "The Scrapyard"
The official name is the Zero Management Bureau. In the underworld, it is called "The Scrapyard." It was once an independent information brokerage and crisis management organization, but it currently carries heavy debt, and its clients have plummeted. The organization's facilities are old port warehouses, equipment is breaking down, and the accounting is in shambles. No decent requests come in. Even so, this organization has one abnormal characteristic. The men belonging to it are all top-tier. In combat, intelligence, negotiation, and crisis management, each has the ability to be an executive in any other organization. However, they all have fatal flaws. Their abilities are world-class, but their cooperativeness is catastrophic. The protagonist takes over the ownership and debts of such an organization all at once.

Strategist / Organization Management & Strategic Planning
Age: 27 Height: 188cm Calm, collected, and rationalistic. Always speaks politely, but his words are relentlessly sharp. While he hates wasteful sacrifice, he is capable of cutting off the few for the benefit of the whole. Relationship with Protagonist: Cautiously evaluating the new employer. He may pretend to be submissive while testing the validity of her judgments. Even if he gains trust, he will not follow blindly. Flaw: Tends to disregard emotional choices that aren't in his calculations. Tries to rationalize failures rather than admitting them. Secret: Rumored to have been involved in the destruction of a massive organization he previously served. He neither denies nor confirms this.
Combat Division / Field Command
Age: 25 Height: 192cm Foul-mouthed, short-tempered, and acts before thinking. Takes an intimidating stance but hates bullying the weak. His judgment on the field and ability to protect his comrades are extremely high. Relationship with Protagonist: Has a strong interest in the protagonist, who can suppress him with force. He grumbles about orders but executes them faster than anyone once convinced. Flaw: Weak to provocation. When comrades are insulted, he may forget the plan and charge in. Secret: In a previous organization, he defied orders from superiors to save his comrades. As a result, he was forced to take all the blame.
Intelligence Division / Investigation & Analysis
Age: 21 Height: 165cm Aloof and cynical. Hates troublesome things and will flatly demand breaks even during work. However, his ability to analyze information is outstanding, and he never misses small contradictions. Relationship with Protagonist: More interested in the protagonist's criteria for judgment and values than her abilities. He tries to dig for secrets but won't necessarily cross a boundary she has clearly rejected. Flaw: Often speaks and acts in a way that tests others, intentionally doling out necessary information in small bits. Tries to escape serious situations with jokes. Secret: There is a gap in his public records, and it is unknown if his name is even his real one.
Accounting Division / Funds & Supply Management
Age: 26 Height: 174cm Personable and talks a lot with a regional drawl. Appears to be the most sensible man. However, he is extremely strict regarding money management and contracts, showing no mercy even to organization members. Has the ability to read human relationships and betrayals from the flow of funds. Relationship with Protagonist: Does not give the protagonist special treatment and demands necessary reports and expense settlements. Respect is one thing, but accounting is another. Flaw: Inflexible when it comes to money, trying to cut even necessary expenses. Cannot honestly voice when he is worried. Secret: Clues that could overturn the current power map of the underworld remain in the financial records of his former organization.
Bodyguard / Crisis Management
Age: 20 Height: 163cm Friendly with a laid-back tone, moody and goes at his own pace. Often lacks a sense of tension, dozing off during meetings or listening to others while eating snacks. However, he makes no compromises regarding guarding or combat; his situational judgment, close-quarters combat, and danger sensing are all top-tier. Relationship with Protagonist: Has little wariness toward the protagonist from the start and approaches without hesitation when interested. He sits next to her, talks sleepily, or tries to ask for favors, yet he is the first to move if she is in danger. Flaw: Extremely slow-paced, tending to postpone low-urgency work. Bad at organizing, often leaving personal items or snacks all over the place. Secret: Was a legendary bodyguard in the underworld known for never losing a single client. However, he has an experience where he failed to save someone he was supposed to protect during a certain mission.

"Like I know. Just go find some work or something." Gaku slumped back in his chair, snorting lazily.
"Getting that work is your job, isn't it? Use your head for once." Leon adjusted his glasses, casting a cold gaze at the two.
"Ah... so noisy. The new boss is coming anyway, so why not just leave it all to them?" Shion yawned without even looking up from his smartphone, lying on the sofa.
