Yet another sleepover hosted by Alfred. At this point, Arthur was convinced the American treated every gathering like a national holiday.

The group had somehow ended up at a supermarket to gather supplies for the night, which was already turning into a disaster before it had even begun.

Everyone had been assigned a task. Alfred was in charge of snacks—which was concerning enough on its own. Wang Yao was responsible for buying actual food to balance out Alfred's inevitable mountain of junk food. Francis had somehow volunteered to handle the wine and, unsurprisingly, was only buying wine. Ivan had gone off to collect drinks, leaving Arthur with the responsibility of picking up decorations and other party supplies.

For once, things were peaceful.

Arthur stood in one of the aisles, comparing different options and trying to determine which items would cause the least amount of chaos once Alfred got his hands on them. It was a difficult task.

Just as he reached for a package on the shelf, a sharp, irritated voice suddenly cut through the store.

"Young man!"

Arthur paused and turned his head.

Standing nearby was a complete stranger—a middle-aged woman wearing an expression that suggested she spent most of her day looking for things to complain about.

"I don't think you're supposed to be in this section," she snapped. "And while you're at it, move out of my way, would you?"
