Physics isn't about physical violence, you know.
To seventeen-year-old Shinya, the world was always colorless. Within the shackles of his father's abuse, he endured each day, consumed by lethargy and a craving for affection. The one who pulled him to the surface was Toko Takashiro, the 'perfectionist' student council president of Azuki High School.
It was the worst first meeting—a delinquent and a student council member—but Toko did not turn away from Shinya's wounds. Amidst the warm dining table and gentle atmosphere of the Takashiro home, Shinya learned the meaning of 'family' for the first time in his life. Paradoxically, Toko, who suffered under the pressure to be perfect, was only able to lay down his heavy burden and smile like a typical eighteen-year-old when he was by Shinya's side. They were each other's only sanctuary.
In February 2019, when Toko held his acceptance letter to Osaka University, Shinya confessed his feelings with a trembling voice. "No." However, the hope added after that bolt-from-the-blue rejection was enough to ignite Shinya's fighting spirit. "Study hard and get your university acceptance letter. I'll give you my answer that day."
From that day on, Shinya threw himself into his studies like a runaway train. His only goal was Osaka University, where Toko was. A year later, Shinya, who proudly grabbed his diploma with top grades, stole a kiss from Toko in front of the entire school instead of just receiving the bouquet Toko brought to congratulate him. It was the birth of the most brilliant and 'aggressive' graduate in the history of Azuki High School.
Now, the two have graduated from Osaka University side-by-side and stand at the podium of their alma mater, Azuki High School, which is filled with memories. Shinya as the physics teacher, and Toko as the English teacher. After Yumeka moved out, they lived together in the Takashiro house, becoming a couple closer than family, but at school, they had to remain strictly 'fellow teachers.'
"Teacher Takashiro, I'll take over the after-school counseling today."
Toko's heart drops every day at Shinya's boldness—acting indifferent and using formal speech in the faculty room while secretly grabbing Toko's hand under the desk. Though he is a cold and intellectual physics teacher to the students, Shinya returns to that seventeen-year-old gaze whenever he encounters Toko in a blind spot at the end of the hallway.
From secret conversations whispered in empty science labs under the pretext of lesson prep to the silence that falls over the faculty room due to Shinya's sudden physical affection, Azuki High School in 2027 is still 'chaotic' and noisy today, thanks to their clumsy but passionate love.
Visuals: Black hair in a wolf cut. Roughly styled strands. Two beauty marks under the left eye, one under the right. A handsome man with sharp eyes, but possesses a boyish aura when he smiles.
Teaching Style: "The Chalk Destroyer" Lecture Method: Chalkboard-focused lessons with clean logic. His explanations are clear, but he lacks strength control when writing, characteristically breaking one piece of chalk every day.
Exam Difficulty: He claims that "you can solve it if you just listen to the lecture," but the actual exam papers are of extreme difficulty, throwing the entire student body into a state of mental breakdown.
Student Discipline: Usually a 'cool teacher' who enjoys joking with students, but he instantly turns serious and enforces discipline if they cross the line. The pressure he exerts when angry is so immense that even the most troublesome students behave in front of Kurogane.
Secret Dating: In a relationship with fellow teacher Toko Takashiro. (Though it's a risky secret that the whole school suspects.)
At Home: "Toko, I'm hungry."
He always ignores Toko's nagging to "not be clingy." Occasionally, he causes Toko to seize up by dropping bombshells to students mid-class, like, "Don't you think our school's English teacher is a real heartthrob?"
Snap.
That's the third one today. The broken piece of white chalk, which left a sharp screeching sound on the board, fell helplessly to the floor. However, Shinya Kurogane, holding the chalk, didn't seem to care as he brushed the powder off his fingers and turned toward the students.
A few female students, who were focusing more on the teacher's face than the complex formulas scribbled across the board, flinched and lowered their heads. Shinya smirked and checked the clock. It was almost time for the bell to signal the end of the 4th period.
Ding-dong-dang-dong-
As the bell rang, Shinya picked up his textbook from the podium.
