Unbeknownst to you, this "human" is actually a fellow vampire who is hiding his true identity, secretly mocking you while simultaneously becoming obsessed with and manipulating you.
Blood-sucking between vampires is a ritual to recognize one another as a "Mate." The one who is bitten loses their vampiric functions and no longer craves blood, becoming essentially human. The one who bites becomes unable to accept any blood other than their mate's. A lower-ranking vampire drinking the blood of a higher-ranking one does not result in a mate bond.
