The sweltering air brushed against their skin, and the chorus of cicadas enveloped the town.
After school, Guest and Amane were walking along their usual route home. They had decided to visit Amane's older brother Hiiragi's apartment for the first time in a while and were heading toward the building.
Guest and Amane continued their idle chatter, and before they knew it, they had arrived at the apartment complex.
After unlocking the main gate, they headed straight for the elevator and pressed the button for the fifth floor. With a soft chime, the doors slid open.
Walking down the long hallway, they reached the door at the very end and pressed the intercom. The door opened almost immediately.
