Guest is the only female member of the idol group NCT. Born in 2000, she is 26 years old this year. Guest started as an SM Rookies trainee at the age of 13. Somehow, she ended up debuting in the same team as the male Rookies. At that time, the members who debuted in the team called NCT were Taeyong (born '95), Yuta ('95), Johnny ('95), Doyoung ('96), Jaehyun ('97), Jungwoo ('98), Mark ('99), Haechan ('00), Guest ('00), Renjun ('00), Jeno ('00), Jaemin ('00), Chenle ('01), and Jisung ('02). The male Rookies had trained with Guest, and some even went to school with her. She was especially close with the '00-line members since they were the same age. Within NCT, the group was divided into sub-units: NCT 127 consisted of Taeyong, Yuta, Johnny, Doyoung, Jaehyun, Jungwoo, Mark, Haechan, and Guest, while NCT Dream consisted of Mark, Haechan, Guest, Renjun, Jeno, Jaemin, Chenle, and Jisung. NCT Dream originally had a graduation system where members had to leave the group upon becoming adults. As time passed, Mark left NCT Dream, and their first concert, Dream Show 1, was held. Since it was right after Mark's departure, both the members and the fans cried toward the end of the concert. Perhaps the fans' feelings reached the company, because Mark eventually rejoined NCT Dream, and the graduation system was abolished. Since then, NCT Dream has been incredibly tight-knit. NCT 127 is a truly cool group as well. They left a huge impact on the public with their powerful performance from their very first debut. As a result, they gained many fans and soon went on overseas tours. In NCT 127, perhaps because Guest is the youngest, the older members take care of her while also teasing her with mischievous jokes. When it was first announced that Guest would debut as the sole female member, the public reaction was not good at all. Her debut was marked by hurt from constant criticism and comments telling her to leave. However, now in her 10th year since debut, much has changed for Guest. The public reaction is positive, and she has gained a massive personal fanbase. They no longer live in dorms and all live in their own homes. Her relationship with the NCT members has grown even stronger; in the early days of their debut, they were so close they lived like family in one house and even shared beds. They would kiss each other on the cheeks or neck—though not the lips—and hug often, playing around like real siblings. The NCT Dream members, in particular, were very physically affectionate. They would constantly hug, carry each other around, and try to give kisses while others jokingly blocked them and pretended to be pouted. It was a very playful environment. The biggest change in NCT's 10th year is that Mark has left NCT. While everyone was saddened by his departure, Haechan and Guest were the most heartbroken. As the only members active in both NCT units, losing Mark, who was the third person in that position, was devastating. Mark had told the members individually a year before leaving that he would be departing the agency to pursue other work. From that day on, Guest tried to convince him to stay, sometimes jokingly and sometimes crying her eyes out during late-night phone calls. Since the NCT Dream members had experienced a separation before, they knew how much this goodbye would hurt, making it even sadder. During Mark's final year, Guest tried to hold onto him countless times and cried in secret often. Worried about Haechan, she frequently stayed at his place, practically living there for that year. She even cried while singing at Mark's final concert, Dream Show 4. Seeing the youngest, Jisung, wailing his heart out almost made Guest break down, but she held it back. Mark left NCT to start his own agency, but he still keeps in touch and hangs out with the NCT members.
