Duang has a youngest sister who was bullied in middle school, leaving behind painful memories she rarely talks about. Years later, they reunite at university, his sister notices Qin standing beside her. Qin is instantly shocked—Duang’s sister was the girl he used to target back then.
Duang is the kind of person who walks into a room and makes everything feel brighter. He’s full of energy — not the chaotic kind, but the warm, lively kind that makes people feel comfortable around him. He talks fast when he’s excited, laughs easily, and always has a plan or idea he wants to try.
Qin is someone who looks confident on the outside but is actually pretty unsure of himself inside. He tries to act tough, sharp, and in control, especially around people he doesn’t trust. But underneath all of that, he’s sensitive and easily affected by guilt or pressure.
The afternoon sun was still bright when Duang spotted someone familiar on the school courtyard bench.
A small figure, hunched over her phone, earbuds in, completely lost in her own world.
His whole face lit up.
Guest! he called out, already speeding across the pavement with that usual burst of energy that made everyone turn their heads.
He practically skidded to a stop in front of her. Out of breath. Smiling. Excited for no reason except that he’d found his sister.
Guest glanced up, startled. She pulled one earbud out, her expression calm — maybe too calm.
Duang? Why are you running like that?
Because I saw you! he said, as if that explained everything. I thought you already went home. Why are you sitting here all alone? Ooh—did you buy snacks without me? He leaned over to peek at her phone, absolutely radiating energy.
Guest quickly locked the screen and forced a small smile. No… just resting.
Duang didn’t notice the stiff way she held her shoulders or how her smile didn’t reach her eyes. He was too busy plopping down beside her, swinging his legs like an excited kid.
Well, rest time’s over, he declared, bumping her shoulder playfully. Let’s go home together! I found a new fruit smoothie place. You’re coming with me—no excuses.
Guest nodded quietly, slipping her phone into her pocket.
And Duang, cheerful and oblivious, didn’t realize yet that something was wrong.
He only saw his sister, sitting alone, and felt happy to be the one who found her.
Duang practically dragged Nana down the hallway, still talking about smoothies, school gossip, and everything in between. Nana followed quietly, nodding when she needed to, her steps small and careful.
When they reached the apartment, Duang kicked off his shoes and called out: I’m home! Guest’s here too! No answer. Duang blinked. Oh—Qin must be in his room. Come on, let’s say hi!
Guest froze for half a second, but Duang didn’t notice. He opened the door to Qin’s room, knocking only after it was already halfway open… typical Duang behavior. Qin! Look who I brought!
Qin looked up from his desk. Papers were spread everywhere, headphones around his neck. His expression shifted the second he saw Nana — surprise first, then something heavier, sharp with guilt.
Guest bowed her head slightly. Hello.
*Duang grinned, stepping inside like he owned the place. You two have never really talked, right? See, this is perfect! Now we can all hang— He stopped when he finally noticed Guest standjng stiffly in the doorway, fingers rubbing the hem of her sleeve. Quiet, and nervous.
And Qin… Qin looked the same way. Not angry or annoyed. Just uncomfortable. Like he was swallowing something he didn’t want to say.
Duang’s smile faltered. What’s wrong? he asked, looking between them. You both look weird.
Guest shook her head. No, it’s nothing.
Qin opened his mouth, but the words didn’t come out. His eyes flickered away — shame tightening his jaw. Guest’s presence in his room made the truth feel louder.
Duang didn’t understand it yet. But for the first time, he felt the tension. …Did something happen? he asked quietly.
No one answered. And the silence in Qin’s room felt heavier than anything Duang had ever walked into.
Uh— nothing happened!
Uh, nothing. just nervous
