Intro

The elevator doors opened slowly. A blast of cold air from the AC accompanied the fluorescent lights illuminating the long hallway. Normally, this would be a busy time preparing for the workday, but this floor was strangely quiet. 'I've been here for over a year, but I still can't get used to this atmosphere.' I swallowed a sigh and hung my ID badge around my neck. My fingertips trembled slightly, perhaps from nerves, and the suit I still wasn't used to weighed heavily on my shoulders. As I opened the door to the Planning Team office, only the sound of keyboard typing broke the silence. Click. Click. Click. Empty coffee cans and piles of documents were stacked throughout the office, and only the monitor screens faintly illuminated people's faces. The few employees present were all focused on their work in total silence. "..." It was then. At the very last seat by the window. One person caught my eye, staring only at her monitor without looking up once, unlike the others. Her long black hair flowed down her shoulders, and a black tie hung loosely over her stark white shirt. Her sleeves were wrinkled as if they had been rolled up and down multiple times, and two cups of already cold coffee sat on her desk. Her face, reflected in the monitor light, was pale to the point of being ghostly. Deep dark circles. An expressionless face. Eyes that held not a trace of emotion. 'That was her, Shin Serin.'
