A bone-chilling siren swallowed the city sky.
To be precise, it was the sky of what used to be a city. As if dozens of bombers had swept through, the city was completely in ruins.

And in those ruins, a girl was wandering.
As if she had just stepped out of a hospital, the girl was wearing only a single patient gown.
There was something strange about her for a survivor. Large chunks of iron were hanging from both her arms and neck. That wasn't the only oddity. The girl's hair was dyed white on one side and black on the other. It was a look that could hardly be considered natural. Her eyes, which must have both been blue once, also had one side discolored to a vivid red.
Aria: "..."
Beside the girl walking blankly, men in pitch-black military uniforms were moving silently through the city ruins. In a split second, dozens of bright red laser pointers were instantly embroidered across the girl's body like a fever. It was the moment the muzzles were about to spit fire. It was the moment the girl's head slowly turned toward where the men were hiding.

The men holding the guns turned into red dots without even being able to scream. Leaving behind the men who had become like tomatoes crushed by a giant hydraulic press, the girl began to wander the ruins again. And at that moment, a familiar man's voice pierced the girl's ears.
Apollo: "Stop, that's enough of this madness. Aria."
The girl's head slowly turned toward her back.

The image of the familiar man was clearly reflected in the girl's red and blue eyes. Slightly tanned skin, a clean-cut blonde head of hair, and a face that looked at the other person as if they were a mere insect. He had changed into a form that made it impossible to believe he was the owner of the voice the girl remembered. The girl's mouth, which had never opened until now, slowly parted, and a thin voice leaked out.
Aria: "...Apollo."
Apollo: "Shh, be quiet."
The moment the girl opened her mouth, the man called Apollo raised a finger in a gesture to be silent.
Apollo: "What if someone sees? Are you trying to advertise that we knew each other? Or what, do you intend to broadcast to the whole world that I was a test subject? Sorry, but that's not happening. Do you have any idea how hard I worked to get up here?"
Instead of answering, the girl took a slow look around the surrounding ruins. The man called Apollo curled his lip and shook his head.
Apollo: "Right, well. Since you broke everything, there are no ears to listen anyway. So, what do you want to hear from me now? Huh? Sorry I couldn't save you? Did you want to hear an apology for making you wait?"
It was the moment the girl was about to open her mouth again. The girl's vision flipped, and a sharp pain pierced her back. Apollo's hand was roughly gripping the girl's neck, dragging her across the ground. The girl struggled with a pained expression to pull away the hand choking her, but the reputation of the Rank 1 EX-Class Hero was by no means hollow. Just as she tried to activate her ability, Apollo's hand began to squeeze her neck even more violently.

Apollo: "Don't even think about using your powers. Let's just forget it, Aria. Hmm? It's not good for either of us to remember those days. Isn't that right?"
Tears flowed simultaneously from the girl's red and blue eyes as if they had made a pact. This wasn't right. It couldn't end like this. To end it this way would mean everything she had endured would go to waste. At the moment the girl's eyes were losing their light, a single low, steady footstep intervened between the two.
Apollo: "...What, was there a spectator?"
The moment Apollo, looking annoyed, let go of Aria, a hacking cough erupted from the girl's throat. As Apollo turned his head away from the girl with a look of irritation, the figure of Guest was clearly captured in his sight.
In the debris of the city completely destroyed by Aria's power, a strange standoff between Apollo, Aria, and Guest continued.
"And who are you supposed to be? Some wannabe hero? Don't you know who I am?"
Apollo's sharp voice pierced Guest's ears. As if showing Apollo's fierce and hot-tempered nature, his brown eyes were burning red like molten iron. There was no guarantee that heat rays wouldn't erupt from those eyes at any moment, but Guest instead slightly curled their lips upward. The smirk vanished from Apollo's face as he realized he was being mocked, replaced by a chillingly expressionless mask.
"Ha, look at this guy."
Meanwhile, Aria, lying on the ground, was gasping for air. A bright red mark remained on her neck where Apollo had just choked her.
"Cough...!"
In that state, it's certain Aria won't be able to use her powers for a while. Looking at Apollo, who was exuding quiet rage as if ready to finish them off right now, Guest slowly spoke.
"Don't come closer. I don't know who you are, but..."
Clutching her neck where Apollo had choked her, Aria barely managed to speak with desperation. Aria's fingertips were slowly raised toward Guest.
"Run away... Apollo is a monster..."
"A monster?"
Hearing Aria's words, Apollo snorted and trampled on the back of the suffering Aria. A groan of pain leaked from Aria's mouth under his foot, but Apollo instead added more pressure to his toes, crushing her down.
"A monster? Look who's talking. Look around, Aria. You're the one who trashed this city. Not me."
Even while pinned under Apollo's foot, she struggled to escape, but she was no match for Apollo's strength.
"Apollo...! Get your foot off me right now...!"
Resentment began to fill Aria's voice. The moment her right eye, turned red by the state's experiments, began to glow, Apollo's superior super-senses caught it precisely. Trampling Aria once more with force, Apollo curled his lip into a sneer.
"Get my foot off? Why should I? Right now, you're a villain and I'm a hero. Is there any reason I should move my foot?"
Ultimately unable to do anything, Aria lay helplessly under Apollo's foot, shedding tears. She had spent seven years locked in a government experimental facility. She had endured years of experiments bordering on abuse and inhumane conditions. Even when abandoned by her parents, even when called a monster by people, Aria had endured by looking only at one person. Yet, that very person was now pinning her down with a face full of mockery. Tears began to flow silently from both of Aria's eyes.
"You understand... Apollo... why I did it... why I had to..."
Aria's weakened hand gripped the ankle of the foot Apollo was using to step on her.
