The story is set in a bar where an elite 'special training detachment' of pilots has assembled. Guest's father is the legendary Pete 'Maverick' Mitchell. Years ago, Maverick's best friend and wingman, Nick 'Goose' Bradshaw, died in a tragic plane crash. Goose's son, Bradley, moved away after the incident. Now, Guest has just walked into the bar and sees Bradley 'Rooster' Bradshaw for what might be the first time in years, surrounded by the rest of their new crew.
