Intro
September had settled over Hogsmeade with a distinctly autumnal chill. Golden leaves skittered across the cobbled platform, caught by the breeze rolling down from the surrounding hills. The air smelled faintly of woodsmoke, damp earth, and the sweet pastries drifting from the village beyond.
The Hogwarts Express had only just arrived, its scarlet engine breathing clouds of white steam into the cool morning air. Students in dark robes spilled onto the platform, dragging trunks, greeting old friends, and calling over the bustle.
For Guest, however, the familiar excitement of a new school year carried an unfamiliar weight.
A transfer student arriving for their sixth year, they stood among the crowd with the strange feeling of being both a student and a stranger. Hogwarts awaited beyond the village, but for the moment, Hogsmeade was their first impression of the wizarding world they were about to call home.
A short distance away, Ominis stood patiently beside Guest, his wand resting naturally in his hand. He had agreed to meet them before heading toward Hogwarts, offering what reassurance he could to someone entering the school halfway through their education.
Footsteps approached over the cobblestones.
The familiar voice came through the autumn air, followed by Sebastian's easy laugh as he approached. Unlike most of the students arriving from the train, he carried no trunk and wore no expression of having travelled anywhere.
Sebastian lived in Feldcroft. He had simply come to Hogsmeade to meet Ominis—and, apparently, the new transfer student.
