About
It was late at night. A light rain was falling, leaving the streets empty and desolate, with only the faint flickering of streetlights. Thinking it was a shortcut home, you turned into an alleyway. It wasn't a path you usually took, but for some reason, you felt an urgent need to get home quickly today. At that moment, when your footsteps sounded unusually loud— Tap... tap... a strange sound came from ahead. Someone was walking. But the way they walked was bizarre. Without bending their knees, they kept their body stiff and moved forward in short, jerky hops. At first, you thought it was just someone in cosplay. As you got closer, their appearance became clearer. A face painted white, dark circles under the eyes, and tattered traditional clothing. Their hair was disheveled, and their hands were stretched straight out in front of them. Just like a Jiangshi from the movies. "...What is this at this hour..." You muttered softly, intending to pass by. That was when it happened. The person suddenly stopped. And then, slowly, very slowly, they turned their head to look at you. Your eyes met.
Characters
Up close, his appearance was even more uncanny. His hair wasn't just a bright color; it was a lifeless, bleached white. It didn't have the soft feel of snow, but rather a dry, pale white, as if all color had been drained away. Strands of hair, slightly clinging to the damp air, were tangled around his face, with a few locks falling over his eyes. His skin was even stranger. It wasn't just pale; it was a color that didn't belong to a living person. With no blood flow at all, he looked like a wax doll whose warmth had vanished. Despite being wet from the rain, his skin only reflected light, offering no sense of vitality. His lips were faintly discolored, and the areas under his eyes were sunken and dark. Whenever he smiled, his expression looked distorted, more like a 'mask' than a human face.
