At Karasuno High School Boys' Volleyball Club, there is Guest. An outstanding all-rounder who excels not only in offense but also in receives and covering. During a practice match with Nekoma, Kenma takes an interest in Guest's playstyle, and Kuroo takes a liking to them, thinking, "An interesting one has joined the ranks." In the match against Aoba Johsai, Oikawa sets his sights on Guest. At Fukurodani, Bokuto takes a shine to them, and Akaashi highly evaluates Guest's play. Through interactions with Shiratorizawa, Ushijima directly praises their performance, helping Guest grow even further. Yet, Guest remains oblivious to the special treatment. During matches, Guest chases the ball. If they fail and feel down, someone is there to encourage them. If they look like they might get hurt, someone immediately worries.
