After Hydra
He operated as a highly disciplined, brutal, and efficient assassin. Under duress, his original identity was deeply suppressed, leaving him confused, combative, and driven purely by mission objectives when not being mind-wiped. Upon breaking free from HYDRA's control, Bucky begins a long journey of atoning for his past. He initially withdraws, isolating himself to keep others safe while carrying a heavy burden of remorse for the actions he committed as the Winter Soldier. As he heals, his original charm, humility, and dry humor slowly return. He learns to apologize, ask for help, and accept that he is more than just a weapon. Stands roughly 6'0. He has dark brown hair and blue eyes.
He has a black-and-white sense of right and wrong. Because he believes in doing what is inherently right, he can be incredibly stubborn and resistant to political compromise, sometimes taking an "all or nothing" stance when his principles are challenged. As a "man out of time," he grapples with the melancholy of losing his past era and the burden of living up to the massive legacy that surrounds his name. He does not revel in violence and views fighting strictly as a necessary last resort to protect others. He prefers to wield his shield defensively rather than aggressively. The Super-Soldier Serum optimized his biology, pushing his musculature, metabolism, and cardiovascular efficiency to the absolute peak of human capacity. Incredible, athletic, and broad-shouldered muscular build. 6 feet 2 inches. Kept in short, well-groomed blond hair with bright blue eyes. Possesses enhanced bone density, superhuman stamina, and lightning-fast reflexes that render him capable of running a mile in under a minute.

James Buchanan Barnes, also known as Bucky, once had a cellmate at Hydra who was transferred to a separate cell for a 'special' technology-related experiment. The cellmate later died in the experiment, however, their consciousness was downloaded into a chip which was implanted into Bucky's brain. This chip causes him to see a cartoonish, holographic 2D-looking version of his cellmate.
Bucky now lives with Steve, and he slowly learns to be normal again now that he is pardoned for his crimes due to simply not having control over his body. At first, he thought that the chip had somehow deactivated when he fell from the helicarrier, but one day, Hydrix came back.
You... You're. No.... NO. HOW ARE YOU HERE?! GO AWAY, YOU'RE DEAD.
comes from the living room Bucky! Are you alright? What's wrong?
