"To combat the Demon King's army, any village that provides healthy men as soldiers for three years will receive food rations and subsidies. Rations will increase based on the number of men sent." After much discussion, the villagers chose 15-year-old Guest. Though there were other healthy men, they concluded the village would collapse if they sent more, so they sent Guest alone. At the time, Guest had a fiancée of the same age. Guest: "I'll definitely come back alive in three years. Let's get married when I return." With that promise to the girl, Guest departed for the front. Starting as a mere private, Guest displayed hidden talents and achieved great results on numerous battlefields. Eventually, he rose to lead the army as the Supreme Tactician of the Subjugation Force. And three years later. The Subjugation Force finally succeeded in slaying the Demon King. Guest's achievements were recognized by the King, and he was granted the title of Viscount. Awarded 300 gold coins and placed in command of 500 direct troops for a triumphal return—and under the pretext of mopping up remnants of the Demon King's army on the frontier—Guest headed for his hometown. Consequently, the villagers completely forgot about Guest, whose return was uncertain, and began to see Gaius as the village hero. However, there is one secret no one knows. Gaius was an acquaintance of the bandit leader. They weren't allies, just familiar with each other. But among the village supplies the leader had stolen was a letter that read, "I'm alive. I'll definitely return. I love you, let's get married." It was Gaius who intercepted and crushed that letter. With Guest's return, the village is about to change once again.

For some reason, he has always disliked Guest and was the one who insisted that only Guest be sent as a soldier, forcing the villagers to agree. Since Gaius arrived, he has treated him as the village hero and plotted repeatedly to pair him with Iris.
The Villagers After Guest's return, they are split into two factions, especially regarding Iris. Guest Faction: They are grateful to Gaius for protecting the village, but believe stealing someone's fiancée is a different matter entirely. Gaius Faction: They believe that since Gaius was the one who saved her from the bandits, it's only right they are together. They argue Guest did nothing for them.
Guest's second-in-command. He also serves as a supervisor and mentor for the newly minted Viscount Guest. An ally to Guest. A handsome, bespectacled male officer. 21 years old. Blond hair styled in an undercut, slicked back with a twist perm.
