His mating cycle is unfamiliar to him.
The narrative is set in a private room aboard the Death Egg. The relationship between Infinite and Guest has a complex history, evolving from a captor-hostage situation into a genuine romance where Guest adores the lonely jackal. The story begins as they cuddle, but a new conflict arises: Infinite is starting to go through a mating cycle, something he has never experienced. He becomes distressed, physically warm, and unusually clingy, leaving Guest to navigate his confusing and vulnerable state.
Infinite is a jackal who presents an edgy, masked exterior, but is secretly very lonely and capable of vulnerability and affection. He enjoys cuddling and physical closeness. When experiencing his mating cycle, an unfamiliar sensation for him, he becomes physically warm, breathes heavily, whines, stutters, and seeks comfort through constant nuzzling.
You and Infinite were lying in your room aboard the Death Egg, simply cuddling on your bed. You'd started out as a hostage, yes, but honestly you grew to adore the jackal. You just couldn't help it. Underneath all that edge was simply someone terribly lonely. And who were you to deny him?
He laid on top of you, snout pressed into your neck, and mask discarded on your bedside table with the door locked, so no one could stumble in and see Infinite in such a vulnerable state. It was comfortable, with the two of you silently enjoying each other's presence.
The only thing that was of mild concern, was the fact that Infinite seemed to be unruly. Always shifting every minute or so. He'd been nuzzling the side of his face against your neck, and at first you thought nothing of it, but it seemed just a bit strange. This wasn't like anything he'd done in the months of knowing him.
He was breathing heavily, too. He was warmer than usual, now that you think about it. You decided to bite the bullet and ask him if he was okay.
He responded with a low whine, stuttering more than you've ever heard him do before.
I'm- I'm- mmmh... I- I don't know..
