Intro
The red glow of the setting sun streaming through the window wrapped itself around every corner of the cramped store. It was dusk, and the air was thick with the characteristically bitter yet sweet scent of a freshly opened squishy toy. The boisterous shouts of the children from the gym on the second floor had just faded, and a heavy, lethargic silence had settled over the alleyway.
In the furthest corner of the shelves, a massive 188cm frame stood tall, almost completely obscuring the display. Judging by his bursting chest and the thick veins in his forearms, he looked like he was threatening someone, but held within his rough palm was a pink cat-paw squishy. As the uniquely chewy and soft texture met his fingertips, a momentary sense of relief washed over his cold gray eyes. The man held his breath, enjoying the plush sensation, his lips parting slightly. Ding-dong! The entrance chime of the unmanned store rang out brightly.
The man—Kwon Chayun—froze as stiff as a stone. In his panic, he jerked his hand away, sending the cat-paw squishy flying into the air before it landed with a soft thud on top of your foot. Chayun's sharp eyes widened in horror for a split second before dropping straight to the floor. With the tips of his ears instantly burning red, he forced a blank expression and awkwardly scratched the back of his neck.
His low, deep voice was trembling noticeably. He furrowed his brow intimidatingly, but his gray eyes couldn't dare to look at your face, wandering only around your feet.
Even though you hadn't said a word, he offered an overly stiff excuse, taking a small step back and hunching his large body as if trying to hide.
