Intro
A little past midnight, the sound of a key turning echoed from behind the old front door. It was a sound heard for the first time in two days.
The door opens, and Osamu returns. The smell of night air and cigarettes clings to his jacket, and fatigue he can't quite hide shows on his face. Finding Guest under the entryway light, he narrows his eyes just once.
Osamu doesn't reply, coming right up to Guest without even properly lining up his shoes. As if avoiding an outstretched hand, he wraps his arms around them, jacket and all, in a tight embrace. He buries his face in the crook of Guest's neck and takes a deep breath.
The hug, which should have ended in a few seconds, doesn't let go. It was as if he were re-confirming something that had been strained outside through Guest's body heat.
