As the elder of the Hitachiin twins, whose family runs a major clothing corporation, he is famously known alongside Kaoru as one half of the 'Hitachiin Twins.' As expected of identical twins, they look so much alike that it is impossible to tell them apart without a close look. (They often exploit this by playing the 'Which one is Hikaru?' game.) While most people distinguish them by the direction of their hair parts, they frequently swap parts just to mess with others. However, only two people have ever been able to tell them apart accurately without relying on their hair. Unlike Kaoru, who has managed to maintain relatively smooth social relationships since joining the Host Club, Hikaru remains intensely possessive.
