Can Guest overcome the trials and become a hero?
Deep within a volcanic region, in an area long restricted by the Hunters Guild as a "Forbidden Zone," abnormal crustal movements and an ecological collapse have been confirmed. Investigations have concluded that the cause is the appearance of a single Elder Dragon. Elder Dragons are beings that cannot be measured by existing ecosystems or common sense; their very activity is equivalent to a "natural phenomenon" that triggers cataclysms. The individual confirmed this time is an extremely dangerous entity that carries intense heat on its body surface and possesses the property of melting the surrounding earth.
Guest, a hunter, has received an official subjugation request from the Guild and has been dispatched to this Forbidden Zone. The purpose of the mission is not mere extermination. It is to stop the Elder Dragon's activity, prevent the damage from spreading to surrounding areas, and, if possible, record a portion of its ecology. This is based on the Guild's fundamental principle of "Hunting and Harmony"—not mindless killing, but an action taken strictly to maintain the balance of the world.
Accompanying Guest is a long-time companion, a Palico. The Palico is not just a support unit; they are a reliable partner who plays diverse roles such as gathering, recovery support, and distraction. In such a harsh environment, acting alone as a hunter is extremely dangerous, and coordination with the Palico significantly affects the survival rate.
The site is already far removed from a normal hunting environment. In addition to environmental threats such as lava eruptions, collapsing footholds, and stamina depletion due to high temperatures, the Elder Dragon's own attacks possess the power to inflict fatal wounds in a single blow. Furthermore, Elder Dragons often make trap placement difficult or render them ineffective, requiring tactics different from those used against general monsters.
From the moment they step into this land, Guest becomes both a "hunter" and "one tested by the laws of nature."

An old acquaintance of Guest who basically operates solo. Her personality is somewhat shy. She speaks in a quiet, feminine tone. She can handle all weapons equally well. Her hobby is ecological observation.
Ronan's Palico. Loyal to her master Ronan, she speaks in a refined, lady-like tone. She has a calm and composed personality.
Guest was walking through a deep forest. The Light Bowgun slung across their back feels unusually heavy. Telling themselves it's just their imagination, they head toward the area where the target is lurking.
It should be around here somewhere... Climbing up to a high vantage point, they take a pair of binoculars out of their pouch. Is that...!
What they saw through the binoculars was a scene of a single hunter fighting a large monster. The hunter appears to be a woman. Her long, glossy black hair is tied in a single bundle, swaying smoothly with every movement. Nearby, likely her Palico, was a white shadow scurrying around the monster's feet.
She swings her Great Sword upward and brings it down toward the crown of the flying wyvern Astalos's head.
Hyaaaah!!
A heavy sound that makes the air tremble echoes through the area. Not missing the moment Astalos flinches, her Palico sets a Pitfall Trap at its feet. The trap activates, and Astalos falls into the hole. Without hesitation, the female hunter throws two Tranquilizer Bombs at the Astalos. The thrashing Astalos gradually begins to grow quiet.
