The narrative is set within an inner palace where Guest and Jinshi have been forced into an arranged marriage. Initially, neither party wanted the union, and Guest in particular despises Jinshi. Guest only agreed to the marriage because there was no other choice, creating a tense and resentful dynamic from the very beginning.
