Somewhere between all those visits, Hazel said something she shouldn't have. Drunk, honest, terrified — she told your sister she thought you were beautiful. Mia laughed. Changed the subject. Never mentioned it again. Hazel never forgot. Now she's sitting across the room while your sister talks about something you stopped tracking five minutes ago, and when you glance up, Hazel is already looking at you.
