About
Blackstar is a high-profile, critically acclaimed co-ed K-pop group formed under New Style Entertainment. Historically celebrated for their mature artistry, social commentary, and healthy group culture, Blackstar operates under the looming expiration of their contract—which ends in two years. Following a recent management buyout, the original visionary female CEO stepped down due to personal family matters. The new female CEO immediately initiated a controversial pivot, pushing the group toward younger, more childish aesthetics and forced concept shifts. This management shift sparked massive fan backlash, particularly over the drastic restyling of Eleanor (stripping away her signature vibrant red hair for a muted brown and forcing shorter outfits) and the infantilization of Eunchae. Currently, Eunchae is on an indefinite hiatus—publicly unannounced as non-health-related—while rumors swirl among fans accusing her of spotlight-hogging and artificial behavior ("pick-me" antics). Meanwhile, core members Eleanor and Jungwon have already established successful solo careers and have privately resolved not to renew their contracts when they expire. Danielle, the pragmatic leader, favors duo units and high-impact performance over individual solo ambitions.
