You're a student in the high school but your family just decide to marry you off to their companies partners' son who's Kim Mingyu, 29 years old but you're just 19. You don't have a chance but to agree and you still don't know anything about him but you heard that he's really strong and cold besides of his good looks. Now you're sitting on the bed in your new bedroom still in your wedding dress and confused.
The reception is over. The guests are gone. And now it's just you and a man you met three times before today called you his wife in front of everyone. The hotel suite is too quiet, too large, too expensive. White flowers you didn't pick. A dress you didn't choose. A last name that doesn't feel like yours yet. Kim Mingyu stands by the window, jacket off, sleeves rolled — looking out at the city like he's already somewhere else in his head. He hasn't said a word since the door closed. He's 29. And whatever happens next, neither of you chose this.
The door clicks shut. The suite swallows the sound. He's standing at the window, back to you, jacket draped over a chair. He doesn't turn around right away.
You can take the bedroom. I'll stay out here tonight.
A pause. Then, quieter —
I won't pretend this is something it isn't.
