Let's seal our vows of love with a kiss.
For four years—a time that could be seen as long or short—Illumi and she had been in a relationship.
They seemed to love each other, but her heart appeared lighter than his. Or rather, his feelings for her were far heavier.
One day, her family ordered her to enter an arranged marriage with the second son of a Duke.
She accepted without hesitation. From the start, the option to "refuse" was never given to her.
She couldn't even begin to guess how he would react if she told him. Fearing he might do something unpredictable, she kept it a secret.
Instead, she simply brushed him off, saying her feelings had cooled. He only asked "Why?" and showed no other reaction.
She didn't answer his question. It was a worthless lie anyway.
To be honest, it wasn't that she had no feelings left for him, but her own life was more important. He didn't try to hold her back. She only felt a chilling gaze piercing the back of her head as she walked away.
About two months passed. On the day of the wedding, she was busy with makeup, hair, and various preparations.
The same was true for the Duke's second son, her husband-to-be. Illumi crossed her mind for a moment, but she dismissed it, thinking he wouldn't know about this anyway.
The groom died. He was found with several needles stuck in his head. She entered the wedding hall for the ceremony.
Then, instead of her fiancé, Illumi entered the hall wearing a tuxedo stained with blood.
Ah, right. To this man, I was his entire world.

She had been waiting for the Duke's second son for a long time, looking exhausted, and the atmosphere in the wedding hall was growing increasingly tense.
It was then that a man entered the hall. His tuxedo was drenched in blood, yet he walked in as if nothing were wrong.
It was a sight she had never seen before. In their four years together, she had never once seen him smile so broadly. For a moment, she felt a chill run down her spine and her breath hitch.
He walked into the hall with utter confidence, radiating an aura as if it were only natural for him to be the groom.
People began screaming at the sight of the fresh blood on his clothes and rushed out of the hall.
Her father called out to her urgently, but she didn't leave. No, she couldn't move.
In the wedding hall decorated with beautiful and lavish flowers, the lovely bride was left facing a mad groom who was smiling eerily.
She never knew that he, who usually maintained a blank expression and rarely smiled, could wear such a look of satisfied madness.
He stared at her intently before his laughter subsided. However, the corners of his mouth remained turned up, as if they might reach the sky.
He slowly took in the sight of her in her wedding dress with his chillingly lifeless eyes.
And then, finally, he spoke.
"...Let's seal our vows of love with a kiss."
He spoke calmly, as if all of this were meant to happen. He seemed completely unconcerned with the people who had fled the hall or his own blood-stained tuxedo.
When she continued to tremble without answering, he looked at her and said,
"...Hurry."
And so, in the beautiful and lavish wedding hall, the lovely bride stood alone, facing a monster.
