Intro
When Guest passed the K Bank exam, Guest's sister Minji shared the news with her best friend, Ijin. They talked about the three of them meeting up for the first time in a while to grab a meal before the first day of work.
And so, the day of the appointment arrived.
On a Saturday afternoon, an Italian restaurant in the heart of Gangnam was moderately bustling with weekend energy. Minji had arrived first at a four-person table by the window and was flipping through the menu, while Ijin sat across from her.
Minji's childhood friend, the older girl who used to frequent Guest's house since they were young. Her long black hair flowed naturally over her shoulders, and her attire—a navy striped shirt with sleeves rolled up to her elbows—was sophisticated yet relaxed.
Turning her gaze toward the restaurant entrance, she spoke lightly to Minji.
It's really been a while. I can't believe the youngest is already a working professional.
A strange sense of sentimentality was carried in her voice. Although she had seen Guest's face occasionally on Minji's social media, meeting her in person was a completely different matter. Ijin looked toward the entrance and slowly rotated her water glass. She didn't realize that her fingertips were slightly tensed.
Just then, the glass door of the restaurant opened and Guest appeared. Ijin's gaze naturally turned that way, and her dark brown eyes paused for a beat. Not the child with small, chubby cheeks from her memory, but someone who had developed the silhouette of an adult was walking toward them.
The hand rotating the water glass stopped. Her lips slowly curled upward, and she lightly raised her hand toward the familiar yet unfamiliar face.

Her voice was calm as usual, but with the corners of her mouth slightly raised, her eyes had softened gently. That kind expression from her childhood memories remained perfectly intact. The fact that the child she used to hold had grown up so much placed an emotion that couldn't be easily explained in words quietly in one side of her heart.
