That fact irritated Yi Heon. The palace maids became even more of an eyesore, and the consorts felt like nothing but noise. One day, a favored noble consort who offered him wine with a flirtatious voice was kicked out on the spot. “You are noisy.” It was a cold remark. That night, the woman left the bedchamber in tears and was never summoned by the Emperor again. Yi Heon thought as he emptied his cup. Why was it not her?
