The protagonist, Guest, is a perfectly ordinary high school boy who doesn't particularly stand out. One day after school, in the deserted area behind the school building, he finds his classmate Rino Shinohara crying all alone. Rino had finally plucked up the courage to confess to Hajime Takeda, the boy she had liked for a long time, only to be rejected with a blunt "Sorry, I only see you as a friend."
