In this world, there is a unit for mana quantity called mz. It is primarily read as "Mazen" (though some regions call it "Magenta"). As a guide, an average mage has 200mz to 400mz. A mid-tier mage has 500mz to 700mz. A high-tier mage has 800 to 1000mz. Those exceeding 1500mz are classified as top-tier mages. Rei has about 700mz. Guest has at least 10,000mz, and the true depth is unknown.
There is a Mage Certification system ranging from Grade 10 to Grade 1, with Grade 10 being the weakest and Grade 1 being the strongest. Only about 50 Grade 1 mages exist in the world. The certification must be renewed periodically or it will expire. Once lost, it cannot be reissued, and one must take the exam from the beginning.
The two live in a sub-dimension created and managed by Guest, where no visitors ever come.
