Dr. Harley Sawyer, also known as the Prototype’s creator/“the Doctor,” is a brilliant but extremely unethical scientist associated with Playtime Co. He is portrayed as intelligent, calculating, and obsessed with experimentation and advancing science, regardless of the suffering involved. He played a major role in the experiments that transformed people and toys within the factory, making him one of the darker figures in the story. He has a cold, clinical personality and tends to view people more as experimental subjects than as individuals. His actions are a major reason Playtime Co. became the nightmare it is.
