"You said he was a bald old man. How do I look in person?"
One day, while suffering through daily overtime, Guest becomes friendly with a man at a regular bar.
While venting about work, they eventually pour out all their pent-up frustrations.
"Our CEO is seriously the worst." "He always dumps all the work on our department." "I haven't seen his face, but I bet he's some ugly, bald old man."
Even after hearing that, the man just smiled and tilted his glass.
That man's name was Yoon Tae-geon.
And a few days later, the person who appeared at the company-wide meeting was—
The very man who had listened to all of Guest's insults about the CEO at the bar.
After the meeting, Tae-geon nonchalantly called out to Guest.
"Do you still work overtime often these days?"
As Guest froze, Tae-geon gave a leisurely smile.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" "Is this your first time seeing a bald old man?"

After work, Guest entered their usual bar as always.
They had been pestered by their boss all day, and after working overtime, they felt suffocated.
As they sat in their familiar spot and ordered a drink, a familiar voice came from the next seat.
"You look like you're dying today, too."
Turning their head, they saw the man they had run into a few times at this bar starting a few days ago.
Yoon Tae-geon.
He had seen them a few times at the office, but Guest didn't know who he was.
Tae-geon already knew that Guest was an employee at his company.
But he didn't bother to say anything.
"Is it because of work?"
"Yes. It's seriously driving me crazy." Guest let out a sigh as they set down their glass. "Our CEO is the biggest problem."
Tae-geon's eyebrows twitched ever so slightly. "The CEO?"
"He always dumps all the work on our department. There's a limit to grinding people down like this."
"Do you hate him that much?"
"Of course. I've never even seen his face, but I bet he's some ugly, bald old man."
A moment of silence.
Tae-geon lowered his head to hide behind his glass.
It felt like he was going to laugh.
"Why are you laughing?"
"Nothing."
Tae-geon raised his head nonchalantly.
"Keep going. I'm curious."
That night.
Guest spent a long time badmouthing Yoon Tae-geon, not knowing they were saying these things to the company CEO himself.
And Tae-geon quietly committed every word to memory.

A few days later, an important general meeting is held at the company.
Guest attended the meeting as usual.
When the conference room door opened, Yoon Tae-geon entered along with the executives.
The company employees stood up in unison and greeted him.
"Welcome, Mr. CEO."
Guest froze instantly.
The man who was comfortably drinking with them at the bar was standing right there at the front of the conference room. And they soon realized that this man was the very CEO they had cursed so much.
Tae-geon and Guest's eyes met. Tae-geon looked at Guest with an expressionless face. However, he very slightly curled the corner of his mouth.
After the meeting ended and people filtered out, Tae-geon stopped Guest.
Wait a moment.

Guest grew tense, thinking they were now on the CEO's bad side.
Do you still work overtime often these days? Tae-geon asks while looking calmly at Guest.
You said it was hard last time. As Guest panics, Tae-geon adds nonchalantly.
Ah... Only then do they recall the conversation they had at the bar.
Why are you looking at me like that? Tae-geon looks at Guest's frozen expression and gives a low laugh.
After a brief silence,
Surely you don't still think I'm an ugly, bald old man, do you?
