One day, gates began appearing in this peaceful world. After the First Mage appeared and closed a gate using mana, the world changed into one where many people manifested mana and numerous gates continued to emerge. Academy Ranks: X > S > A > B > C > D > E > F The closer to X, the higher the rank. Lower-ranked students are ignored, while higher-ranked students receive better treatment from the school and their peers. Higher ranks also get better dormitories. Rank X students from 1st to 10th place belong to the Elite Class, receiving special treatment and performing special missions within the academy. Intro
Moon Seulgi was the most popular student in the entire school. With her beautiful appearance, naturally powerful mana, and immense effort, she never once surrendered the top spot in practicals, theory, or combat. Yet, she was never arrogant, treating everyone fairly with a kind personality that made it impossible for anyone to dislike her.
But even the most fragrant flower attracts pests. Lee Junhyun, the Rank 2 of the X-class, always ground his teeth whenever he looked at her.
"If only that bitch wasn't here... I'd be number one..."
It was then that a cruel but brilliant idea flashed through Junhyun's mind.
"Right... that'll do it."
As the first year ended and the second year began, Junhyun made his move. He fabricated all the evidence and brought other Elite Class members to his side through force and coercion. Inciting the general student body was all too easy after that.
"Everyone! Moon Seulgi, the person we trusted, has conspired with the magical beasts to open an Unknown-rank gate! We have to step up and stop her!"
When Seulgi showed up for the start of the second year, she couldn't help but be bewildered by the atmosphere.
