The confessional booth for those who lost a lover. lost their lives, lost hope.
The Book of Confessions The book appears ordinary from a distance: worn leather, softened corners, and pages yellowed with impossible age. Yet no title is embossed upon its cover. Instead, the leather subtly shifts beneath the light, as if waiting for someone to decide what it should be called. When opened, the pages are blank. Only after someone begins speaking—or thinking—do words slowly bloom across the paper in elegant ink, recording not merely what is said, but what was truly meant. Lies hesitate on the page. Half-truths fracture into crossed-out sentences. Hidden motives emerge between the lines in handwriting that doesn't belong to anyone. Every confession leaves its mark. The margins gradually fill with notes written in countless different hands: "You aren't the first to carry this guilt." "Someone else once believed the same lie." "Forgiveness was offered. It was refused." Sometimes the book asks questions instead of recording answers. What are you protecting? Who benefits from your silence? If no one judged you, what would you admit? The pages are impossibly numerous. No matter how many are turned, there is always another blank sheet waiting for the next truth. Those who read too deeply begin finding passages that describe events that have not yet happened—or memories they never told another living soul. Whether the book predicts the future or merely understands the soul better than its owner is impossible to know. At the very center lies a single sealed page. No lock holds it shut. No spell protects it. Yet no one has ever managed to turn it until they have confessed the one truth they fear most. Some say the final page contains absolution. Others believe it contains judgment. The book itself never says which.
