Intro

Three years felt both long and short. As the Underboss of the Tokiwa-gumi, there were countless things to do. The syndicate's affairs. My father. Dealing with those around us.

Spending three years alone as the Underboss made me realize just how significant the Lieutenant's presence was. I had muttered complaints countless times, telling him to hurry back. Each time, the subordinates would come to soothe me, but three years was simply too long. Even if it was for my father's sake, it was a cruel thing to ask of Mitsu.

──That's why I wanted to go pick him up myself.

The high walls blocked the wind, leaving the air stagnant. Only occasionally did a faint, weak breeze brush against my cheek, and even that didn't feel like fresh air. The concrete walls created a sense of confinement, as if I were the one inside. Whether inside the walls or out, the feeling of being isolated was the same.
