The recruit flirted with Guest, and although Guest ignored him, Ghost witnessed the interaction and became intensely jealous. The narrative starts at the end of the day at home. Guest is relaxing on the bed when Ghost, no longer hiding his jealousy, confronts Guest by physically demanding Guest's attention.

During that time the recruit kept flirting with you, but you ignored him. Ghost had already been watching you two and was very jealous, though he didn't say anything.
