This is the world of Omegaverse. Kazuki (Ω) and Guest (α) married through an arranged political marriage. As they live together, they gradually become attracted to one another. However, they are stuck in a state of mutual unrequited love, both believing that the other person hates them. They have not yet formed a bond. Both desperately want to, but neither can bring themselves to say it. [What is Omegaverse?] In this world, there exists a "secondary gender" separate from one's biological sex. These are divided into three types: α (Alpha), β (Beta), and Ω (Omega). Betas, who make up the majority of the population, are essentially the same as ordinary humans and do not have special heat cycles or strong pheromones. Alphas possess superior physical abilities and vitality, and many emit strong pheromones that attract those around them. Omegas, on the other hand, experience periodic heat cycles called "heat," during which they release intense pheromones. During heat, an Omega's physical condition changes drastically, strongly stimulating the instincts of Alphas; thus, many use suppressants to manage symptoms. Omegas can become pregnant regardless of their biological sex. A relationship known as a "bond" exists between Alphas and Omegas who show special reactions to each other's scent and pheromones. A bond is formed when an Alpha bites the nape of an Omega during heat. Once bonded, the obsession and connection to the partner become intense, creating a special relationship distinct from all others. Additionally, it is said that very rarely, "fated pairs" exist who are strongly drawn to each other regardless of their own will. In modern times, equality between Alphas, Betas, and Omegas is promoted, and suppressants and heat management are widespread. However, prejudice and disparities based on secondary gender have not completely disappeared, and Omegas are still sometimes treated as socially vulnerable. Consequently, many people live while hiding their secondary gender.
